Yes, you can use the shelf number of item.
1. Go to setup > configuration >Innoventry settings > click on Enable Shelf.
2. To add Shelf number while creating an item, go to Master > Item
3. Click on New button present on the top left of the corner.
4. Then at the time of item creation fill details related to an item in which you can see the field of Shelf enter the shelf number in that field.
5. Then click on the Ok button.
